The Equinox was completely redesigned for 2018, showcasing a new design and all-new powertrains; there are no significant changes for 2019. Three turbocharged four-cylinder engines — including the segment’s first diesel in North America — are offered, a 1.5 litre, a 2.0L — matched with GM’s new nine-speed automatic transmission — and a 1.6L turbodiesel. Equinox offers what GM calls “purposeful” technology, helping to keep passengers safe, comfortable and connected. The latest connectivity features include 7- and 8-inch-diagonal MyLink infotainment systems designed to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as an available OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Teen Driver is also offered, allowing parents to set controls and review in order to encourage good driving habits, even when they are not in the vehicle.
